The only gluten-free restaurant in Orleans that we had found on the internet was called “La Girouet” and on its website it did not say anything about gluten-free food. Right next door is the Tourist Information office. With a full stomach, we continue walking until we reached the Cathedral again. We bought some cookies with caramel and some muffins with chocolate chips. – had indications of gluten free.įinally we decided to try new things and brands that we had not tried before. When we say “nothing else” it is literal: nothing! No product of which we look – meats, soups, sausages, etc. As you can see in the photograph, there was a whole line of gluten-free products, but nothing else. We ended up at the Carrefour in the Place d’Arc Shopping Center, next to the train station. In fact, one of the most beautiful views is from Jeane D’Arch Avenue, towards the cathedral. We highly recommend you to walk around the city center. This time I did not have much success… now we tell you! This time we had organized ourselves very well: Isabel was in charge of the city tours and I was looking for gluten-free restaurants in Orleans. Luckily, the bad weather gave us a truce and allowed us to go for a walk around the city. In fact, when we contacted the association to ask about gluten free restaurants in Orleans, we received an email telling us that they did not have information and that we we should just order: grilled things. Together with the Tapa Tapa Restaurant in Barcelona, it was one of the worst contaminations I have ever suffered. Even so, be always alert, since in Paris I ate grilled meat and vegetables and I was heavily contaminated. This is a restaurant where you can probably eat – always explaining your gluten intolerance very well, of course! -, since it is a grill restaurante they will always be able to do something just grilled. Just upon entering, we saw a Buffalo Grill Restaurant. We stopped to eat after a few hours – again quite early for us – in another service area but we could not enjoy very much those gluten-free sandwiches because it started to rain. I love that pork loin! These gluten free sandwiches have already become another indispensable element for our trips. We were 6 hours away, so in line with other trips we have made, we made some pork loin sandwiches that Isa brought from Cuenca.
